Job Description
SYSTEMS ARCHITECT:
Senior level telecom Systems Engineer/Architect who will be the high level technical interface with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and the Customer to assist with the definition, design, test, and support of communications systems with an emphasis on GPON and system architecture. Responsibilities will include: writing of white papers and systems specifications in support of the system development cycle; lead a cross-section of engineers in specifying requirements & early feature design; identify and resolve technical issues. Support Marketing and Engineering in responding to RFxs. Assist in the definition of system architectures.
The SYSTEMS ARCHITECT should have broad knowledge of telecom systems engineering technologies with emphasis on GPON and networking, routing, outside plant, xDSL, embedded software/hardware, NGDLC, DSLAMs, SONET, TR-303, VoIP, pseudowire, Ethernet, VPLS/MPLS, RPR, ATM, Carrier Ethernet etc Preferably experience in architecting a DSLAM, MSAP or MSAN platform or experience in designing components for one. Must be able to rapidly assimilate information to a working knowledge. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills. MSEE with 5-10 years experience. CCNA/CCIE helpful.
